Blackburn said he's never heard anything negative about Wood until these allegations. He said all of the parents who put their children in Wood's care were doing what they thought was best."You do the best with what you're given and when you put your child in the care of somebody, you trust that person," said Blackburn.
On Thursday, Wood was arrested and charged with child neglect, violation of day care licensing and obstructing justice.
Wood also had alcoholic beverages and cleaning fluids under the kitchen sink with no child lock devices on the cabinets to keep the children out, according to deputies.
An arrested warrant said there were two unattended children in a master bedroom where a loaded revolver was on a book shelf.

Wood was released on $11,000 bond on Friday.
Wood has not been charged in connection with the infant's death. Coroner Parks Evans said he is looking at the possibility of unsafe sleeping conditions causing the death, but is waiting on further testing to determine an exact cause.
The Sheriff's Office confirmed that the 3 month old baby died.
According to DSS, a registered in home daycare is not inspected unless a complaint is filed, but requires a paper registration process once a year and background checks.
Deputies who responded to day care facility about a report of an unresponsive 3 month old baby say they found a woman hiding 14 children in a downstairs room in her home, an unsupervised toddler in the back yard, and a loaded gun and alcohol accessible to the children in her care.
According to the Department of Social Services, an in home daycare must be licensed if the person cares for seven or more children. A DSS spokeswoman told WYFF News 4 Investigates that a licensed in home daycare gets unannounced inspections at least twice a year and requires background checks.
When deputies got there on Feb. 21 to check on the baby, she told them there were only six children in her house, but investigators located Wood's 16 year old daughter hiding in a room Nike Air Max 90 Hyperfuse Id

The release said Wood did not cooperate with investigators and provided false information on several different occasions during the investigation.
Deputies said she was registered with Greenville County Department of Social Services to have a maximum of six children in her home. A warrant said that Wood had a prior record with DSS for the same offense.
A release from the Greenville County Sheriff's Office said they found that 49 year old Pamela Clark Wood was operating a day care facility in violation of her registration guidelines.
"We did the whole background check, the DSS check and all those turned cleared out," said Blackburn.
Parents tell WYFF News 4 that the day care was shut down on Feb. 21, and they were told to find new facilities. They were told the day care would remain closed for 45 days.
