a broken leg while playing for Birmingham. The Gaffer diverted the Forest team bus to Birmingham so that the players could visit me in hospital. That was just typical of the man, it was a fantastic gesture."Some years later, after I got the sack as Chesterfield manager, the Gaffer tried to get work for me at other clubs. Then I got a call and he told me, 'If you're as good as I'm telling other people, you'd better come to work for me.' I then started working with the young players at Forest. He looked after me, and I'll always be grateful for that."Helping hand from a footballing legendForest fan Ron Roberts, from Nottingham:"I'll never forget the day that I came face to face with Brian Clough and he offered me a helping hand.

I DON'T need to dig deep for memories of my dad. I'm surrounded by them and, as anyone who has lost a loved parent will agree, the longer they are gone and the older you yourself become, the more precious the memories.Of course as I grew up I realised his job was different from those of other kids' dads and that he was well known, but I honestly didn't consider it too unusual when he stopped the car on the way to school to give other kids a lift (not always a popular one with me, I've got to admit), or that there was anything unusual about inviting a couple of little lads from the North East that he met outside Newcastle FC's ground to share our family home for a period of time.I couldn't understand why, at parties, people didn't get the words right to New York, New York and That's Life, but then they obviously hadn't spent 20 years travelling in my dad's car!I still know every syllable and intonation of Leroy Brown, and I love that I do.My dad worked extremely hard all his life and was exceptionally generous that's what I meant when I said I'm surrounded by memories.I'm aware every single day of his immense kindness, the homes he helped provide that people still live in, the employment he Nike Air Max 90 Classic found and businesses he supplied that people still work in, places they have visited as a direct result of his generosity, not to mention the entertainment and pleasure he gave and still gives to an awful lot of football fans.He always wanted as many people as possible to benefit from his position a true socialist in every sense of the word.He had a reputation for, shall we say, talking a lot; well I never heard him or my mum speak about any of these things. The only other occasions I remember him being a wee bit muted were when family or those he considered friends consciously let him down. He couldn't understand it and neither can I, but insecurity and envy can lead individuals from all walks of life to behave badly. How can I not mention the glorious football trips to Wembley and to Europe? Such happy, exciting times. Those who were fortunate enough to be there will never forget and although I was too young to remember the success at Derby, the hundreds, probably thousands, of tributes left by both sets of supporters and from all over the world and the 15,000 who attended his memorial service more than confirm the Nike Air Max Black With White Sole

miss him, and in answer to his request that he hoped people would say he contributed, yes Dad, you did, more than most.Royalties from the book will go to the Brian Clough Memorial Fund. Marcus Alton will be at WH Smith in the Victoria Centre, Nottingham, at 1pm on October 29 to sign copies of the book.Tomorrow: A TV presenter, an MP and three more vans give their verdict on Cloughie.Wages cut was the right decisionFormer Forest manager Paul Hart can still remember the first time he met Brian Clough."It was three days after the season finished in 1983," he said. "Leeds United were in the Second Division, and I got a call from the manager to tell me that a club was interested in signing me it was Nottingham Forest."I then met the Gaffer after a reserve game at Elland Road I actually met him in the office of the Leeds United manager."I said 'Hello, Mr Clough.' He said, 'Call me Brian.' Of course, I never did."He then began to persuade me to go to join him at Forest. But he said, 'If you think you are going to get the money you are on at Leeds, you're mistaken.' And in the same breath he said, 'I'm not leaving until you agree.' I took a huge cut in wages, but it was the best decision I ever made. He was the best boss I worked for. He kept things simple, and I enjoyed playing for him."After I left Forest, I suffered Nike Air Max 90 Essential Alligator
