"There is a part of me that burns for the eternal. I can stand on all the great summits of the world, but it would not be enough to justify a reason to live. Since I've tasted the eternal, a goal that lacks it feels empty and useless." July 1, 2006.
"We wanted to move it from a memorial to awareness of safety," said her aunt, Pat Ward. Search and Rescue team members will give a talk, and will be a presence on the mountain Saturday, Aug. 4.

They summited 30 35 14er mountains by the time she was 20 years old. When she was 18, she climbed all four peaks of the Andes in Ecuador. The next year, she and her brother climbed Mount Rainier in Washington and two months later, she reached the summit of Denali in Alaska.
After her death, her family found her journals 15 books that covered 10 years. The books were filled with daily struggles of God, school and family; scraps of paper with phrases written on them that she wanted to further investigate; deeply felt feelings she penned from the top of mountains.
"Time to Live Inc." was established in Lygon's honor around an annual climb in the Rocky Mountains and the vision of that message discovered in Lygon's journal.
