BERNARDINO Jury deadlocks in shooting trial A San Bernardino jury could not reach a verdict in the trial of an alleged gang member suspected of fatally shooting 18 year old Jarrett Ojomoh two years ago on the city's Westside. Jurors announced that they were deadlocked, after two full days of deliberation, in the trial for Robert Harold McKinney on Tuesday morning before Judge Bryan F. Foster in San Bernardino Superior Court, according to court records. McKinney, 20, is scheduled to return to court March 13 for a pretrial hearing. Prosecutors say the defendant was driving a car that pulled alongside and began shooting at Ojomoh and a friend as they walked eastbound on 19th Street, near Medical Center Drive, on April 11, 2007. The two victims ran in opposite directions. The friend scaled a wall and escaped. But Ojomoh was shot and fled to his girlfriend's nearby apartment, where he collapsed. The shooting, say prosecutors, was retaliation for the death of Edward Griffin, who was shot inside a car at a San Bernardino intersection in February 2007. McKinney had spotted Ojomoh wearing red, but the victim was not involved in gangs. The case suffered a lack of physical evidence, such as the missing weapon. But lawyers in the case say it came down to the credibility of key witnesses. The bullet missed the suspect but convinced the man to flee the home and hide in a nearby backyard. Police arrested Eric Charles Anderson, 27, on suspicion of burglary. about the burglary in the 900 block of Ocotillo Drive. Anderson tried to break into the home through at least one door. He tore a screen off a bedroom window and forced the window open, police said. When he tried to climb in the window, a woman inside the home pointed a gun at him and threatened to shoot if he continued coming inside. He went to the front of the home where the woman confronted him again. She fired the gun at Anderson, causing him to run away. The bullet struck a nearby wall across from the victim's home. The woman told police she did not know the suspect and that it appeared he simply wanted to burglarize the home. Allegra Michelle Fromby, who was most recently assigned to Del Rosa Elementary School, pleaded not guilty to the charges Tuesday in San Bernardino Superior Court, according to court records. Fromby, 39, had failed to show up for arraignment on Feb. 6 and had a warrant for her arrest until she appeared in court Tuesday, records show. She is charged with possessing marijuana for sale and transportation of marijuana. The vice principal returns to court Wednesday, and a preliminary hearing was set for Feb.27. Fromby began working at Del Rosa Elementary School as a vice principal in September and has worked for the district since 1996. She is on administrative leave, according to district officials. on Dec. 18, according to San Bernardino police. Allegra Fromby had pulled up in a van just as her husband was shot, Capt. Scott Paterson said at the time. Officers subsequently found drugs packaged for sale in the vehicle, but they did not reveal how the drugs were found. Alejandro Cortez Garcia, 29, was booked into West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga on suspicion of child abduction, criminal threats, auto theft and attempted homicide, police said. Police said the man took the child Saturday in the 200 block of North Meridian Avenue after getting into a fight with the child's mother over visitation rights. He allegedly got into the woman's Air Max 90 Wolf Grey car and fled. It's possible he didn't realize the child was in the back seat of the car when he drove away, said police Lt. Brian Koerner. Garcia dropped the child off unharmed at a relative's home in Rialto hours after an Amber Alert was issued. Garcia's bail was set at $1 million. The crash was originally reported in Tuesday's edition of The Sun. The Honda hit water in the road, causing the driver to lose control and the vehicle to spin into oncoming traffic. A Ford pickup truck going 45 miles per hour hit the Honda broadside. When paramedics arrived, they found a man and a woman in the Honda and pronounced them dead. The man, Nike Air Max 90 Reflective
